I’m Amee McCaughan.

A passion for capturing beautiful scenes and sharing evocative moments brought me to photography. I’ve always loved family, nature, art, and experiencing diverse environments and cultures. Photography beautifully weaves all of these together.

Whether it's celebrating their family, customizing art for their home, or creating authentic headshots for their brand — I help my clients tell their story and share what they love most.

Before starting my family, I studied wildlife and worked as a marine biologist. Photographing large whales and chronicling their behavior, I loved observing and documenting active, powerful, beautiful creatures on camera. In recent years, raising my children, traveling with them, and being the recorder of our family’s journey has helped me realize how a visual image can allow all of our senses to revisit the most poignant moments of our lives.

Capturing real moments that show my clients’ true essence is important to me. While I do help them pose for some of their photographs, I’m also watching, listening, and encouraging their natural interactions and personalities to emerge. I bring intention to understanding who my clients are and making our time together as real, fun, and relaxed as possible.

As a mother, I know the way a baby’s face lights up when his mother smiles at him, and how that photograph holds the power to forever warm that mother’s heart, and also remind that child how very much he has been loved. An image recording the joy on a little girl’s face when her father lifts her high off the ground for an airplane ride will be priceless for them both as she quickly grows.
